Beckenham BR3

When news spread throughout the Acorn Group that Projects Co-ordinator, Tom Luck, has sold the ‘Rat & Parrot’ Public House in Beckenham, there was general disapproval of the Land Department! After all, who would do such a terrible thing as close down a perfectly good pub, which happens to be a favourite watering hole for most of our local staff?  Not to mention the history with David Bowie performing in the pub on a number of occasions. Smiles returned to the staff’s faces when Tom revealed that it was the redundant rear car park that fact been sold, and the pub to the front of the site would remain! Tom assisted the developers Buxton Homes, throughout the transaction. Planning permission was granted on the car park for a scheme comprising 14 terraced, semi-detached and detached houses, a single flat and shop fronting the High Street. After concluding the land sale we then set about the letting of the pub to Zizzi restaurants and the sale of the upper parts of the pub to be converted into flats with a further new build house to the rear.
