Following several failed attempts by other developers to acquire the twelve leasehold and freehold interests at Westerland in Kemnal Road, Chislehurst, we received instructions to complete this difficult assembly.  Acting on behalf of Asprey Homes Ltd who already had two flats under their ownership, and in conjunction with a private investment company who held a third, a specialist joint-venture company was formed to acquire the remaining interest. With Acorn handling the individual approaches, contracts were quickly finalised for the block purchase.  With planning permission already granted for the demolition of the existing building, and construction of twenty four mansion style apartments in its place, we then undertook the marketing of the freehold site.  It was no surprise to us that a site of such local importance generated record interest from national house-builders and independent companies alike. CALA Homes (South) Ltd, registered their interest at an early stage, and they will now undertake the development on behalf of the owner, Southspirit Ltd.  Having acquired several other sites in Kent in recent months, CALA are no committed to introducing high quality housing across the South East.
