Acorn's Commercial & Development Division acted for retained clients Erinvale Developments Ltd in the unconditional acquisition of the former Drake Court residential care home from Shaw Healthcare.
Occupying a prime acre plot in the very heart of the prestigious Cator Estate, the sale was forced because the locally Listed building does not comply with emerging care home standards.
We became aware of the availability of the property before the closure was publicly announced, and introduced Erinvale, who have proven regular and reliable unconditional buyers in recent years. After their first sale aborted, Shaw reverted to our clients, and the purchase was completed expeditiously.
Erinvale intend to re-instate Drake Court as a fine family home, and pursue the redevelopment of the ugly institutional extension.
